Basingstoke Bluefins Swimming Club
Spring Championships - May 20th 2007

The Basingstoke Bluefins Spring Championships will take place on Sunday May 20th at the Aquadrome.

 

This competition is open to all members of Bluefins with the exception of swimmers in level 1 and 2 teaching groups.

 

There will be 3 sessions:

    Warm-Up   First Event   Swimmers
Session One   12:00   12:30   8/U, 9,10, 11, 12, 13
Session Two   14:30   15:00   8/U, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16/O, Levels 3-6
Session Three   17:30   18:00   11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16/O

 

Swimmers in level 3-6 teaching groups * 25m Freestyle (Any Stroke)
Swimmers in level 7-12 teaching groups
Squad swimmers
Age Groups:
8 & Under, Age 9, Age 10

200m Freestyle +

All ages as at 20th May 2007.

Awards::   Medals will be awarded to the first 3 swimmers in each event.
A trophy will be presented to the best overall boy and girls in each age group based on cumulative British Age Group Points (4 best swims to count).
 
Entry Fees:   £2 per event; maximum £10 for 5 or 6 events.
 
Heats:   Swimmers will be arranged into heats according to previous best times (slowest first).
Swimmers who have not recorded a time will swim first in ascending age order. Swimmers will swim together as follows:
  • 8 & Under, Age 9, Age 10
  • Age 11, Age 12, Age 13
  • Age 14, Age 15, 16 & Over

Results will be calculated for each individual age group.
All results will be based on heat times, there will be no finals.
 

Registration:       Swimmers must register before the start of warm-up for the first session in which they are swimming. There will not be entry cards for this competition.
 
Entries:   Entries may either be made via the club web site www.swimbluefins.org or by filling in an entry form and posting to:
Mike Lambert, 79 Camrose Way, Basingstoke, Hants, RG21 3AW.

The closing date for entries is Friday May 4th.
No NOT hand your entry to any teacher or coach. Do NOT leave your entry form in the club office at the Aquadrome.
 
     
*       Swimmers must be capable of swimming 25m in deep water (there is no shallow end at the Aquadrome pool). If in doubt consult your teacher. The club reserves the right to refuse entry on health and safety gounds to anyone who in the opinion of teachers is not capable of swimming one length.
 
+   Entries for the 200m freestyle event may be restricted if necessary to meet time constraints.
