After careful consideration and taking into accout the latest government advice and guidance from Swim England, Swim England South East have reluctantly taken the decision that the 2020 Championships will NOT go ahead.

In a statement published on 16th March, Swim England have recognised the impact of this on qualification for the National Championships in the summer:

“We understand the concerns around the qualifying window for the Swim England Summer Meet, which is impacted by the British Swimming Summer Championships.

It has been agreed that the current window will be suspended and a technical meeting will take place this week to determine a process for issuing invitations for these meets."

While we do no rule out the chance that the Championships could be rescheduled later in the year, the swimming calendar is so busy, that this seems extremely unlikely.

We recognise that swimmers have been working hard all year to qualify for region championships. If you have achieved the base (consideration) time for any event, you can order a hoody or swim hat to recognise that achievemant.
