Accepted/Rejected Entries

A list of accepted entries is shown below. The original list of accepted and rejected entries is also available.
Please note that we cannot update this list once the competition is underway.

Entry Processing Report

All entries have now been imported into the Meet Management system and entries analysed. A provisional list of accepted and rejected swims is now available. If a swim is not shown as rejected, it has been accepted.

  1. All entries were checked to eliminate duplicates and to resolve issues, such as name not entered correctly, incorrect sex, times submitted in wrong format.
  2. All entries were validated against Swim England Rankings. EVERY reported failure was checked and every effor made to resolve problems to avoid rejecting entries unnecessarily. A report is available showing an analysis of rankings mismatches. As a result of this, only 20 swims were ultimately rejected. It was possible to correct 66 of the failures. [Please note that where an alternative time was taken, the submitted time in brackets on the list of entries may not reflect that change].
  3. Because more swimmers achieved the base time than can be accomodated, entries were reduced in accordance with condition 6.9. Please note that the table of swimmers for each event on this page is a TARGET. In some events, we have accepted slightly more and in others slightly less. This is to ensure that no swimmer has been accepted with a slower entry time than a swimmer in a younger age group who has been rejected and to address one or two anomalies arising from mixing LC and converted SC times.

We have been able to accept 4862 out of the 6095 swims entered (80%).

In an attempt to address commonly expressed concerns:

  1. We do not take reserves. We rely on some withdrawals to reduce the session lengths to the target levels.
  2. We cannot accept any late entries.
  3. We cannot accept amended times after the closing date.
  4. We will correct any mistakes that we have made; we are not able to correct any mistakes in submitted entries.
  5. We will NOT reject any swimmer who has been accepted as a result of an error we have made in applying condition 6.9 (unless the original entry was invalid for any reason).
  6. Remember that we are combining long course and short course times. A swimmer may appear as number 15 in LC rankings, but not be in the top 20 when converted SC times are taken into account.

With almost 1500 individual entries it is not possible for us to respond to every query especially if they are covered by the explanation in this note.

Entries Received

Entries recevied up to 3 May 2019 12:02.

To aid the running of the meet, any swimmer who does not intend to compete is asked to withdraw before the start of warm up. You can withdraw:

  • Using a withdrawal form available at the pool on the day of competition.
  • Using the online withdrawal form. You will receive an e-mail confirmation of the withdrawal.

Please note that we cannot accept withdrawals by any other means (including by e-mail).

Number of Swimmers Per Event

All swimmers who have achieved the automatic qualifying time shall be accepted for that event. If there is space available, swimmers who have not achieved the automatic qualifying time but have achieved the base time may be accepted. Those swimmers who are closest to the automatic time shall be accepted first. The number of additional swimmers that can be accepted will be determined on an event by event basis. The target number of swimmers for each event is as follows.

  11/12 Years 13 Years 14 Years
50m 38 38 38
100m 32 32 32
200m 27 27 27
400m 24 24 24
800m 6 8 10
1500m 6 8 10

100m 13 13 13 13
200m 13 13 13 13
400m 9 9 9 9
800m 8 8 8 8
1500m 8 8 8 8

There are different QTs for 17 Years and 18/Over to ensure that any swimmer with a realistic chance of qualifying for the British Championships or the Swim England Summer Meet can swim. These swimmers will compete together in the 17/Over age group in the Region Championships.

Girls/Ladies 15 Years 16 Years 17 & Over
50m 24 24 24
100m 17 17 17
200m 17 17 17
400m 12 12 12
800m 12 12 12
1500m 10 10 10

Because girls mature earlier, there is no need for different QTs for 18/Over.

The number of swimmers accepted may need to be adjusted to ensure that times are "progessive". No swimmer will be accepted with a slower entry time than a swimmer in a younger age grouo who has been rejected.
